The Other Girl
Was this some type of outdated wife/concubine mentality? Or rather, a modern approach to reality?
Since I became single, I've developed a habit of gathering information from my observations. I began to question the idea of a traditional relationship - monogamy, marriage, and often times I would swing back and forth from being a hopeless romantist to a cold modernist. Watching the dating scene in New York City definitely didn't help holding onto dreams about love. People treated each other as if they were replaceable...and it went for both genders (frankly more for guys). This made me sad. Whatever happened to the depth of love? The sincerity, the emotions, the connections - the feelings that gave you butterflies during the day and the ones that kept you warm at night? Isn't 1 meaningful relationship so much better than...10 hook ups?
